The drought of short fiction is broken folks. Up at Short Story Town there is a piece by me called "Plugged into the Jacket." It's at the top of the page for now. In a week or so you might have to scroll down to find it. It may or may not be based on a time when I wrote essays meant for other people to use for studying purposes. No comment.

The Ultimate Guide for High Performance Media
This is the name of a poem that the Skink Beat Review has just published in their April 2021 issue. Click on the link, wait for the reader to load, and then scroll through for my work. Or you "could" be good by reading the poems that come before it.

137 Is a Natural Number Following 136 and Preceding 138
It is the 33rd prime number, and more than that, it is a Chen prime (and the fourth Stern prime.) It is the most common age of death mentioned in the Bible and in California, it is the penal code for an officer bribe to influence testimony. 137 is the numerical value of the Kabbalah and it might even lie at the heart of the Grand Unified Theory.
137 is also the page where you will find my poem "Plus a Lineup" in the second issue of Black Moon Magazine. All praise 137!

Windows 96: Product Review
No, I'm not discussing a recently rediscovered lost Microsoft product from the Gold Age of Gates. The Windows 96 in question is both the name of a musical act, and the name of a poem I wrote about it.
More specifically, I used the reaction of listeners to the music. My medium? Cutting up the comments they posted under the YouTube video for the album pictured above. A lot of nostalgia, as you can imagine.
While the Comments Section lit mag is the first place to put this poem out in print or online, I actually read an earlier draft of this work at a reading hosted by Christine Stoddard at Unnamable Books in 2019.

Fleas on the Hair of the Dog that Bit Me
Hello one and all. Here in New York, we're coming up to the one year anniversary of the lockdown. What a year or lack of a year it's been. The folks over at Fleas on the Dog have published several of my poems. Just search for my name or scroll on down to get to the good stuff. CW: descriptions of Eczema.

But I'm still an Embryo with a Long, Long Way to Go
Embryo Concepts' latest issue "Guilty Pleasures" is out now. My poem Blunderland is in it. Depending where you work, it might not be safe. If so, it's probably the first time I've published anything controversial in that vein. Otherwise, it might give you some ideas of how to survive this blasted quarantine.

No, I Don't Have a Cat, Yes Read My Poem About One Anyway
Poetry Life and Times, an offshoot of ArtVilla published a poem of mine with a feline character. My original source of inspiration wasn't real life, so much as a picture of a couch in a book about interior design.
Oh no, my secret is out!

Part of a Joyous Mosaic
Thanks to Mosaic here is a poem of mine that appeared in their most recent issue. I hope it is clear enough. I originally took a picture of it on my phone but unfortunately you can't add images from your phone (or anywhere else) onto this site directly. I don't know why Blogger is so anti-Mobile. I guess it's still 2002 over at HQ. So I emailed to myself, downloaded it to my laptop, and pasted it here. If there are any issues viewing it, blame the people who created this platform. You have a dozen different fonts to choose from on the mobile version, but no option to add images. Go figure.

The Luck of Submitting to the Irish
The second issue of Beir Bua journal is out with my poem "Accordion Grimes" in it. Open the PDF to read it. In case you're wondering, Beir means "bring" and Bua means "victory, talent, or virtue."

A Little Bit of Mythology for the End of the Year
Okay, it's not actually about Atlas, or Janus, but Dionysus. But it's cool according to the folks down at Revolution John.
