The drought of short fiction is broken folks. Up at Short Story Town there is a piece by me called "Plugged into the Jacket." It's at the top of the page for now. In a week or so you might have to scroll down to find it. It may or may not be based on a time when I wrote essays meant for other people to use for studying purposes. No comment.

It is the most common age of death mentioned in the Bible and in California, it is the penal code for an officer bribe to influence testimony. 137 is the numerical value of the Kabbalah and it might even lie at the heart of the Grand Unified Theory.

No, I'm not discussing a recently rediscovered lost Microsoft product from the Gold Age of Gates. The Windows 96 in question is both the name of a musical act, and the name of a poem I wrote about it.
More specifically, I used the reaction of listeners to the music. My medium? Cutting up the comments they posted under the YouTube video for the album pictured above. A lot of nostalgia, as you can imagine.
While the Comments Section lit mag is the first place to put this poem out in print or online, I actually read an earlier draft of this work at a reading hosted by Christine Stoddard at Unnamable Books in 2019.

Thanks to Mosaic here is a poem of mine that appeared in their most recent issue. I hope it is clear enough. I originally took a picture of it on my phone but unfortunately you can't add images from your phone (or anywhere else) onto this site directly. I don't know why Blogger is so anti-Mobile. I guess it's still 2002 over at HQ. So I emailed to myself, downloaded it to my laptop, and pasted it here. If there are any issues viewing it, blame the people who created this platform. You have a dozen different fonts to choose from on the mobile version, but no option to add images. Go figure.
