I think I Got a Poem Published in Here

But I don't know. Nobody tells the poet where his voice goes a thundering on

Sandal Licking Good

“Malu”(마루) means the tops of the mountains and/or the tips of the waves in pure Korean. Do with that what you will. But first, read my poem Sandal Licking in the Malu Zine

A Little Bit of Mythology for the End of the Year

Okay, it's not actually about Atlas, or Janus, but Dionysus. But it's cool according to the folks down at Revolution John

Your Word for the Day is Synaeresis

Synaeresis is either the contraction of two vowels into a diphthong or a long vowel, or the separating out of the liquid from a gel.

It is also a publication from Canada.

Synaeresis : arts + poetry Issue 11 has now been published, featuring my poem "America's Fightingest General"

Ponder these Poems at Ponder Savant

This one's a doozy, five poems at Ponder Savant. They were selected for the theme "Still Shining." It's collection involving Arlington's Columbia Pike, Ticker Tape parades, and Plato. Thanks to Mia Savant for posting them.

As Online, so in Real Life (or Not)

Two more poems to share with you. The first is in the Rye Whiskey Review. That place is quickly becoming a satellite of this blog. But I can't complain. Exposure is exposure, unless its northern. In addition to this poem, there's another in As Above, So Below. The theme of the current issue is freedom/imprisonment. My works are called "The Prison State" and "The Price of a Gazebo."

Celebrating the Work of Benjamin Nordolilli

Really enjoying this poem "The Lunar Gemini" in the Poetica Review. It's by an up and coming poet named Ben Nordolilli. I don't know what it is, but there's something about the language I like. It seems...so familiar. Overall, I hope you enjoy his work here and be on the look out for more of it!

Ok, I'll Confess...

...I have a poem in the first issue of the Confessionalist, an online zine that collects "poems written at 3AM when the rest of the world becomes static." All well and good. However you'll have to do a little scrolling and a little digging to find my work. Think you can do it? I hope so. While it's not at the bottom of the issue, the poem is called "At the Bottom Quantum." Don't overdoes on verse on the way down.

Call Me Brackets. Some years ago - never mind how long precisely, having little or no money...

I have two poems in the "Heroes" themed issue of Call Me [ ] (that's the way the title of the journal is structured that's why it's called Call Me Brackets in official correspondence, no, I won't explain it further). Not only that, there's an interview with me. So if you were wondering what the process is behind my writing, you can read about it!

Not to Be Confused with My Actual CV

Try to find the classical allusions in my poem "Preserved in Fragments"
Two poems of mine are in the publication Call Me [Brackets]. The first is called C.V.  but isn't actually my CV. Just to reiterate in case it messes with my SEO, it's just a poem, not a list of qualifications and accomplishments. The second is "Preserved in Fragments," and it requires no special warning.

Comparing Inaugurations Trump Vs. Obama

This image has been making the rounds lately in one form or another:

...in order to compare attendance at Obama's 2009 inauguration compared to Trump's in 2017. I just want to say this is a very misleading image. All that white you see was actually filled with people. They were just wearing hoods.

First Poem of 2014 Published

2014 is here and hopefully it will bring the change I need after nearly a decade of socioeconomic blue balls. I need a new everything. Sometimes I think about just burning my earthly possessions and walking off into the woods. Honey and locusts and sackcloth oh my! But then I look outside and see there's snow everywhere and the nearest woods are next to a school. They probably wouldn't like me staying overnight there. I've been slacking on the publishing front, so I've put out poems, seeing if anything sticks. Already there's one acceptance to report and link to, a poem of mine is up at Luciferous, a blog maintained by Craig Scott. No, it doesn't have anything to do with the Prince of Darkness. It's just a word which means "illuminating" both figuratively and literally.
